EverSave ReviewMust have utility - Version: 1.0.2, 9/8/2009 04:48AM PST

Having run Eversave for about a month I had pretty much forgotten it's there. Then Pages crashed on me. I reopened the file and a couple of hours work was still there because of Eversave. Needless to say, this excellent little free utility has more than paid for itself.

Eversave is highly customizable. I frequently edit Photoshop files by opening them in Adobe Lightroom. Not surprisingly this confuses the heck out of Eversave. It was easy to tell Eversave to ignore saving Photoshop files.

It's an enduring mystery to me how Apple can have an office suite that doesn't have auto-save. Maybe they believe their own cute little commercials. Sure you should "remember to save often," but that's NOT THE POINT is it? Eversave is really a Lifesaver, highly recommended.

EverSave ReviewBrilliant piece of software! - Version: 1.0.2, 3/28/2009 03:56AM PST

Don't listen to this other reviewer here, thomasmarch - he's either talking about some other piece of software, or his machine has a serious problem... or maybe version 1.0.1 of Eversave really stunk. I just tried out version 1.0.2, and it's pretty nice: little icon in the menu bar, compact preferences dialog, easy enough to set up (although the instructions could be atiny bit clearer).

After Pages '09 screwed me up twice, crashing and taking all my unsaved work with it, I am a happy camper now, having found this software. Free, too. Cool!

EverSave does what it's supposed to do. It takes some getting used to, and requires some tweaking at first, but it works just fine. In fact a feature like this should be build into Mac OS X!
