Text Reader Developer NoteFrench localization fixed - Version: 1.2, 10/18/2003 01:17PM PST

In 1.2 you can remove the French localization from the Finder by selecting Text Reader and showing the Info window. Under Languages, remove French. The program will now work. I just posted 1.2.1 to fix this for new downloads.

Krioni,

You can take a look at an open-source freeware AppleScript I wrote that offers batch processing as well as metadata encoding. For more information, see

This little utility saves a lot of time. I was going to write something like this for myself using AppleScript, but this does the trick nicely.

I'd love to see a batch feature, and perhaps then the MP3 could be named based on the name of each file converted. Even better, perhaps the author could give a standard format for meta-data where we could put the book title, author, etc in the beginning of the file, and TextReader would put those into the MP3's tags.

Even if he doesn't, this is a great time-saver.
