Product Description:

Text Reader opens plain-text files and then exports them either to AIFF files or directly to an iTunes playlist (optionally encoding them with iTunes' default preferences).

What's new in this version:

  • Rewrote entire application in Cocoa
  • Added preferences for pitch and rate
  • AIFF export dialog is a little smarter about file extensions
  • Performance increase for large sound exports
  • Performance increase for large number of windows

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher (including 10.3)
    iTunes 3 or higher (iTunes 4 tested) for export to iTunes (not required to save to AIFF)

Text Reader Developer NoteFrench localization fixed - Version: 1.2, 10/18/2003 01:17PM PST

In 1.2 you can remove the French localization from the Finder by selecting Text Reader and showing the Info window. Under Languages, remove French. The program will now work. I just posted 1.2.1 to fix this for new downloads.
