SideTrack CommentaryAwesome but... - Version: 1.6, 2/16/2008 12:00AM PST

I love the corner clicking. I played with for a little while, and it is a perfect complement to QuickSilver and Spaces. And the price is well worth it.

However, I am way too accustomed to two fingered scrolling and two fingered right click. I see on your dev page that support is planned for this.

I have set VT to notify me of updates on SideTrack. I will happily purchase it the instant you add that support. I look forward to using ST regularly.

Great work.

SideTrack Troubleshooting Reporttwo finger scrolling - Version: 1.6, 1/13/2008 04:06AM PST

olegnews
hello - i switched from win/dell to mac 11 month ago and i really missed the ongoing move of the cursor reaching the end of the pad - so i'm verry interested in your software.
but now after installing i miss the two finger actions (scrolling with two fingers. two finger tapping for right-click) of the original driver. is it possible to activate theese two finger actions in your driver too?

SideTrack CommentarySidetrack for post October 2006 macbook pro - Version: 1.4.1, 8/8/2007 04:34PM PST

Anyone know if there will ever be a version that will work on the post-October 2006 macbook pro? The developer's site still notes that an update was in the works but nothing since then.

Currently with 10.4.10 on my Pismo I have nothing but praise for SideTrack. Haven't had any sleep or other problems. Scrolling is fantastic. Highly recommended.

SideTrack CommentarySleep mode issue & Airport suddenly not recognized - Version: 1.4.1, 6/24/2007 04:38PM PST

itzawrap
I thought I found gold, until I tired to wake my PB17 1gb (circa 2003) from sleep this morning.

First off, it wouldn't wake up. Then after force restarting it woke up. Then after opening Safari, it hung the entire machine and my Airport went out. After un-installing Side Track and 5 restarts the Airport still would not come back to life. System Profiler could not recognize that an Airport card was installed.

Finally, after rebooting from an external drive to determine if I had a fried Airport card (which I didn't) and then restarting from my computer, the Airport came back to life without having to re-install the entire system software (OSX10.4.6).

Seems there is some kind of bug in Side Track that causes this calamity.

I suggest the developer go in to find this issue and correct it. This problem prevents me from using Side Track. It's off my machine. It was fun to use when it worked, but I can't deal with an issue like this. Reminds me of the days of OS 9.x

A great idea with a flaw. Too bad since many of us desperately need a scrolling track-pad on a vintage machine.

SideTrack Reviewgreat program but... - Version: 1.4.1, 4/15/2007 06:50PM PST

The new version didn't fix the problem with sleep mode! I still have to reboot my computer to get the display to wake up. That is very annoying, but I still like the app enough to use it. I would like it a lot more though if it didn't mess up my computer (15"powerbook g4 by the way). Pleeeease just fix this bug?!

SideTrack ReviewGreat program, but... - Version: 1.4.1, 4/15/2007 06:45PM PST

I have used sidetrack for over a year now and have always had problems with the sleep mode on my g4 powerbook. The new version was supposed to fix this but it still happens. This is a horrible nuisance because my screen won't always wake up and I have to reboot to get the display back. PLEAASE fix this! really like SideTrack and would like to continue using it. Also the two finger scroll would be cool, but still a great app!

SideTrack ReviewBecause two finger scrolling just sucks - Version: 1.4.1, 2/8/2007 05:12AM PST

Hi im ben
First let me preface this by saying, I probably don't use the trackpad the same way as other people. I find myself using the thumb of my right hand as my navigation control. Others I see use other fingers which has always felt awkward and wrong to me.

So when I bought my new MacBook and tried to do 2 finger scrolling, needless to say I was in hell. It never felt natural.

It's not just that though, I think SideTrack does it all better. I love the side scrolling and I also love mapping the corners to all different functions. Close, Right Click and Hide all at my finger tips, literally.

For awhile I had some wake from sleep issues with my MacBook but as of late I have yet to see them. Even so I don't think I could use my Mac without the program.

It's nothing out of this world unique, my Thinkpad T42 includes software that does exactly thia same thing, I'm just glad someone thought to do it for Mac. The developer also has been very quick to respond to emails and helpful when there was a problem. This ranks up there with Quicksilver and Adium for me as my top used Mac Apps.

SideTrack ReviewMacBook Pro Sleeping problem - Version: 1.4.1, 1/22/2007 12:20PM PST

I'm using sidetrack from very first days it's available, and was very happy with it.
But recently (maybe after 10.4.8 update or even earlier) I have discovered, that for some reason, sidetrack creates problem with my Laptop sleep mode.
Uninstalling side track resolves the problem. When I reinstall it - problem repeats.
It seems, that lot of people has similar problem with there laptops sleeping mode. I suggest to uninstall sidetrack to see if this resolves the slipping mode problem.
If developers may isolate the issue - I will be happy to continue to use of side track - I really like it.
