Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 CommentaryStill Loyal After All These Years - Version: 10.0, 6/29/2009 11:08AM PST

Why the devil can't Adobe use Apple's UI conventions? Stop fighting with Apple and her customers. No your market. I've been using Dreamweaver since the early days of Macromedia and have always liked the application. Adobe bought Macromedia, and their sole goal has been to integrate Dreamweaver and Fireworks into their product line without regard for the customer or quality.

Worse, Adobe's customer service and technical support are Byzantine and adversarial, as good as hostile. Don't worry, because it takes hours to get through to someone. Even longer when your calls get dropped.

I was a great supporter of GoLive. When GoLive became unsupported, i naturaly tried to work with Dreamweaver. There is nothing common between both: GoLive was much more "mac like" than Dreamweaver is. Despite a lot of efforts and goodwill, i have never been able to feel comfortable with DreamWeaver. I did try it three times, removing it each time after a month, then downloading it again saying to myself "this cannot be possible, you MUST work with this". Furthermore, CS4 was crashing on me regularely. So, no way! i gave up. I now work with CODA and WebDNA.

Amazing how Adobe made Dreamweaver CS3 9.0 so perfect, fast and bug-free that there was never an update for 9.0 and they are now about to release CS4. : /

Adobe is really starting to take us for granted. I'm looking at alternatives harder and harder and will jump ship at this rate.
