I'm seeing the same thing the udders have mentioned. A phenomenally slow updater. Actually, one of the slowest I've ever seen... ever. What on Earth did Adobe do with this thing?

Downloaded update, and it fails to run on my version of Flash. I also used the Adobe Updater to search for the latest updates. A while back it downloaded this update, and supposedly updated Flash (as well as other CS3 products), and still, my app reads as version 9.0.0.494.
So, either the update didn't actually work, or there is a bug in the update where the application does get updated, but they don't change the version information.

Hi,
For a while I have been advised by Version Tracker Pro that Adobe Flash CS3 has an update from my version 9.0.0.494 to the current version 9.0.2. However, Adobe's own updater program says everything is up to date; this despite there appearing to be a 9.0.2 update file on Adobe's update page:

Should I let Version Tracker update or wait until the Adobe update program deals with it???

Took about twenty minutes to install on a MacPro 4-core tower.
Take all other comments about the slow installer to heart -, it really is.
What Adobe doesn't seem to realize is that after dealing with previous update snafus while managing a bunch of machines at work I immediately assumed that once again the updater was borked (a la Illustrator 11.0.2 update) and I would need to do a reinstall for the third time.
Good thing I waited.
Take all other comments about the slow installer to heart -, it really is.

Flash itself is NOT updated and its version number will not change.
The stand alone players get updated and many unseen internal bits get updated but the application itself will remain 9.0.0.494.
It is an amazingly slow installer.

The installer is REALLY slow but just wait and let it keep going it will finish. There were a couple of points where the status indicator just sat there at the same place forever but if you wait it will finish.
As far as use I haven't used the apps since the update yet.

Downloaded the update from here... installed it... looked to see if Flash was in fact 9.0.2 and the answer was NO.
SO, I ran the update from within Flash itself, and still, nothing. Some "Flash Lite" something-or-other...
Flash is still 9.0.0.494
HEY... THERE'S THIS THING CALLED "PACKAGE INSTALLERS"... Why can't you (Adobe) use them?

I tried several times to install the tryal version of Flash 8 but the installation always stops somwhere in the middle after refusing to install one or more of the files.
the error code is 1080:17,-4
