D2X (Descent 2) - 0.2.6.b13

I wish this guy would give out the full version. Because the full game IS open-sourced and plus I bought the original game 9 years ago.....however the disc got kinda messed up -_-;;

I seem to have been able to port most of the data files from the OS-9 Full version of Descent 2 Countersrike and have made it work on the D2X demo version. simply take all the data from the Descent 2 folder in the OS-9 and put it in the data folder of D2X. you will get the full version ( At least i think it will use the full verson. i have played it and it has both D2x and Descent 2 counterstrike in the menu when clicking on new game)

First all i took all the old data out of the D2X demos data folder and put it on the desk top, then i took out all the data from the os-9 versions data folder and moved it into the D2x folder. i then tried to play the game, it crashed, so then I moved the demos folder that was in the data folder and and put it back in and tried again, it crashed, i then looked and the consol report and it was looking for the . hog file , so i moved the D2DEMO.HOG back into the Data folder and it worked.

I wish someone would just simply make a carbon version that will run the OS-9 Play disk for D2, it would be much easier to port over in OS-X, bungie did this with myth II, they made a carbon update for the OS-9 version that was installed on your hard drive and it is up and running well.

Still no save game in D2X yet that i can find.

I do have the full paid version of Descent 2 countersrike for OS-9 on disk with the installer, you have to install it in 9 to use the data from it or it will not work. I do not work for the D2X team nor will i be giving away the Os-9 version of Descent two.

I hope this helps somebody. Play On!!!!!!!!!!! still want tosee a version that will let us use the play disk from Os-9, and have save functions for D2X

BTW i am running an old Quicksilver G-4 and running os 10.2.8 with 2 gigs of ram and ata 100 hard dsrives with cable.

there seems to be no save feature in this game, no much of sound, it is like it is looking for a play disk, is this something i can download? i have not downaloaded any of the earlier versions of this game, works well with the logitec wingman rumblepad and the wingman action pad.

I'm a Descent-freak and bought a PC only for playing Descent, cause much things where not supportet on Mac. Descent3 will be portet onto OSX soon, hopefully. But be able to play Descent2 on my working machine will also be fun. Hope the Mouse-bug will be killed soon here...

It may not be well advertised, but D2X 'supports' the original Descent (D1). Just place the D1 files inside the Data directory of D2X.
The gameplay works, but I have noticed some textures to look slightly incorrect.
Then when you select a new game, you will be prompted what scenario to play; Descent 1 or Descent 2 Counter-Strike.
This same method can be used to play other third party mod's; although some do not seem to work 100% or at all even. Remember to still have fun!
