Product Description:

CyTV ReviewGood stuff -- but have the right network - Version: 0.5.4, 4/10/2006 07:39PM PST

The product works. That in itself is pretty amazing. I've tried to make it work on an Airport network (with 802.11b WAPs) and the latency is too much... playback will freeze within a few seconds of starting with default settings. Making use of the transcoding will get you MUCH further, but one has to play with the settings to find what works. Network latency due to use of hubs rather than switches, distance of wireless transceiver from airport client, other traffic on network or server activity ... they all play into improving success. But just for the sheer technical joy of 'doing it', this product really rocks. After two hours of playing and watching, I rediscovered that there's absolutely nothing on worth my time. 57 channels and there's nothing on - springsteen.

CyTV ReviewGreat! - Version: 0.5.4, 2/2/2006 09:19AM PST

Installed, works great, with just a couple of clicks (already had VLan client). Streaming from my Mac Mini (connected to eYeTV 200) through Airport (802.11g) is awesome. I've used the connection on another (wired) Mac Mini and my PowerBook (wireless). I've also configured it on my wife's PC laptop (wireless) and while not as nice as the Mac client with the right syntax for the streaming URL works fine.

Great job!
I look forward to any future release and if I use it for more than a month (as I expect I will) I will gladly send in a PayPal donation.
