This AppleScript applet lets you schedule iCal Events as messages in your iChat AV status message, which is visible in other iChat users' Buddy Lists. (iChat AV is required for use with iCal Calling iChat! However anyone using iChat 1.0 or better will see your status message in their Buddy List.)

Clear the display at Event's end time and reset iChat's status message to your iChat online status
Schedule Daily and Weekly repeating events as recurring iChat status messages
"Countdown messages" display the countdown of days, hours and minutes until the end of the scheduled Event
Assign any iCal calendar Events to display in the status message
