File Stitcher MP3 Edition CommentaryGap between tracks - Version: 1.1, 1/11/2005 01:22PM PST

This program does not work for megamixes that are meant to go from one track to another with no pause. I have megamix CDs from Dance Dance Revolution, and iTunes is no help, because I can't make it play songs with no gap between them without burning it to CD. I don't see why I'd want to do that, since I already HAVE them on CD, and I'm trying to move them to my iPod.

I managed to merge all of the MP3s for the songs, and in the proper order, but there's a very slight gap between songs. It's not very noticeable when listening on iTunes, but when I try to listen to it on my iPod, there's a VERY noticeable garbled skip around one second long between each and every song, and it makes me cringe every two minutes when a new song comes along. I'd really like to be able to listen to these megamixes on my iPod, but so far I'm not finding it to be possible.

File Stitcher MP3 Edition Commentaryit works... - Version: 1.1, 2/28/2004 09:37PM PST

but it does not seem to do a very clean job: when i run mp3splt with sync error detection mode on the the stitched file, it detects the merge points as sync errors. my guess is, file stitcher simply merges the mp3 files including their tags, which is not what you want to do. interestingly, if you remove the tags by hand from the original files, the program refuses to join those files...

i guess i'll stick with: 1) removing the tags by hand 2) using xmerge to merge the files 3) then deleting the type/creator infos that xmerge incorrectly sets.
