Product Description:

RarMe is an AppleScript Studio application that uses the command line utility 'rar' (http://www.rarlab.com/) to create RAR archives. In order to use RarMe you must download and install 'rar'.

RarMe 0.3 is developed for use on OS X 10.3, but works fine on 10.2. It just won't look as pretty.

What's new in this version:

  • Expert tab with option to add additional switches not currently supported by RarMe
  • Option to preview the current command to be sent to 'rar'
  • Korean language support (hopefully - it's untested)
  • Changes:
  • Output folders now autofill based on selected input
  • 'Process in' option now a popup menu
  • Donate tab now links to supported charities
  • File extensions are checked and warning given if not as expected
  • Fixed:
  • Fixes error in the generation of the amend command
  • Bits here and there
  • Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

    • Mac OS X 10.3
    • Mac OS X 10.2

    Additional Requirements:

    • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

You must install rarlabs shareware or it won't work at all. Not freeware.

Even after installing 3.51 rar rarlabs file in the correct place inside of RarMe, it does not compress files. It runs in the terminal and then errors and does not create the rar file. Using process in terminal setting I get the error Cannot open /Users/xxx/Desktop/testfile.txt
Creating archive /Users/xxx/Desktop/test.rar in terminal. WARNING: No files Using Processs in RarMe setting I get an AppleScript error dialog saying cannot open.

I tried several different files, but it won't work. Does it really work in Tiger?

this seems ok. contrary to a previous comment Gumby does indeed make .rar files also (besides unraring them), you just use the option key on the gumby rar window to change it from process to create. several Gumby windows operate in this option manner.
