Tofu ReviewTofu - Version: 2.0.1, 9/7/2009 02:49PM PST

A great text reader!
I have used Tofu for several years, first with OS 10.3 and now with 10.5. Have an easier time reading text and some news articles. I like the fact that links work and that I can adjust it to my current iMac screen.I drag and drop from textEdit and cut and paste from a web browser.

This is just a wonderful app which does , what we need and did not know how to fix a common problem - reading long texts on screen.

Tofu ReviewFantastic Program! - Version: 2.0, 9/8/2008 12:11PM PST

Paradoxial
I thought that Tofu had become abandonware, so I am extra-pleased to see this update! The column view makes large text MUCH easier to read, far more so than I expected.

I think my only request would be to change the Services key command to something that does not conflict in Safari, since I use it on webpages most often.

Tofu Troubleshooting ReportLove 2.0a2, but there are two issues... - Version: 2.0a2, 6/28/2008 07:35AM PST

1) The only way I can get text to hyphenate is to go into preferences and deselect and then reselect the "Use Hyphenation" checkbox.
2) I have "ask to save when closing unsaved text" checked in the preferences, but it doesn't seem to work.

THANKS

Tofu CommentaryNo support for graphics - Version: 2.0a2, 8/18/2007 03:49PM PST

It's great to be able to read things in collumns, but the application homepage has screenshots of pages with photos in between the text.

I have never gotten Tofy to display a single graphic. Only text. Which then in most cases doesn't make the layout of a web page better, -it makes it more boring. But efficient to read, yes.

Background color no longer works in this version.

Tofu CommentaryGreat... + feature suggestion - Version: 2.0a2, 5/4/2007 05:58AM PST

Thanks for this nice little product. I use now everyday as I often read papers or articles. This makes me use much less paper.

A feature I would like to see: to possibility to highlight (in yellow, or...) parts of the text or even annotate it, and save it with these highlighted part.

This would then fully replace the paper review.

Tofu CommentaryPrinting with columns? - Version: 2.0a2, 12/2/2006 07:49AM PST

I don't print very much but when I do it would be great to have a tofu formatted page to go. This app screams for being able to print in column format. It's hard for me to believe there's nothing out there that does this? Except for the dreaded WORD?

i use tofu for doc, rtf and pdf format with a mac book pro with intel processor.
it works really well, but when you open a pdf format it does not show the text after the first page.
this is a problem if you are reading quite any kind of document.
please let me know of any new release.
thank you
