I believe that iMote must be one of the great iTunes controller.

I strongly recommend you should try this.

Thank you very much for the developer.

iMote ReviewMemory leak ruins an otherwise great product - Version: 2.2.1, 1/15/2007 02:52PM PST

big_mig
I really want to like iMote, but it leaks memory like no other application I've seen. After a day or two of being open it can easily consume 150+ MB of real memory, which is ridiculous for an application of this type (the only apps that regularly consume more than that are web browsers, which have a bunch of open tabs storing tons of history and cache, etc. etc.). It is quite annoying to have to relaunch the app every couple days.

My advice to the author would be to switch to Objective C 2.0 with automatic garbage collection when Leopard is released. This should solve the memory leaks once and for all. At that point, I would gladly register and contribute to his development fund.

iMote ReviewMy favorite of the iTunes controllers - Version: 2.2.1, 8/15/2006 08:45AM PST

sidetracked
Everything is easily customizable; hot keys, info floater, ( I prefer the app's built in floater to the optional Growl - easier to position and control). I use it all the time without having to think about it. What more could you ask?

The one time I had a question, the developer got back to me right away, even if there wasn't a ready answer.

There is a minor bug that I reported that apparently has appened to a few other people as well. If the menu extra is on I have to quit iMote before the computer will let me quit iTunes. No big disaster (still overall 5 star and donation worthy in my book), and the developer said it will be addressed in the next version. But if it happens to you, no you're not crazy or doing something wrong when your iTunes keeps re-opening. Just quit iMote.
