Product Description:

  • View the Font menu with each font displayed using its own typeface (WYSIWYG Font Menu);
  • Instantly view the format of the font (TrueType, OpenType, PostScript, etc);
  • View all the styles the font offers right in the menu;
  • Reveal the font in the Finder from the menu;
  • View font collections in the Font menu;
  • Mark and reveal duplicate fonts;
  • Easy to configure as it comes in usual Preference Pane form, accessible through System Preferences.

Note: current version of FontCard works only with Carbon applications. We plan to add support for Cocoa in the nearest future.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a problem where changing settings or updating the font menu would cause FC's font menu to disappear and multiple instances of "FontCard is unregistered" to show up;
  • Now updates the font menu if a font is activated via Suitcase, Font Agent Pro or some other font utility;
  • Added the ability to force a font menu rebuild. Hold the command and option keys on the keyboard when clicking on the font menu;
  • Now works if the font menu is named "Schriftart" or "Schriften" and no longer looks for "Schrift" or "Schriftkegel" (German);
  • Fixed a bug introduced in 1.0.1 that could cause the same exact font (not a duplicate) to appear multiple times;
  • No longer tries to rebuild the font sets in applications that don't have a font menu that FC knows about (faster);
  • Hiding Duplicates is now the default because it's faster. Only affects new preferences/users;
  • Will no longer "destroy" all items in a menu nor will it repeatedly show "FontCard is Unregistered". (different bug with same problem as above);
  • Fixed a problem with menu item being inappropriately checked instead of not checked at all;

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Unsanity has chosen to jump ship, and leave their loyal customer base screwed. DO NOT waste your money donating or buying a license as all you will be doing is throwing your money away. I deleted all my Unsanity haxies. Never again with Unsanity.

For those who believe that Unsanity does not respond to inquiries, I suggest that you read the announcement in the yellow box at the top of their blog page that has existed for months now:

http://www.unsanity.org/archives/betas/enthusiastic_trepidation.php

I own FontCard, FruitMenu, Menu Master, and WindowShade. All of their betas have worked well with Leopard on multiple Mac's.

FontCard CommentaryHuh? Why is this here? - Version: 1.5.1b4, 7/20/2008 08:32PM PST

v.1.5.1b4 has been out for several months, why is it showing up here a an update on July 20, 2008. In fact, FontCard keeps telling me that there is a new version available, but it is always 1.5.1b4, which is what I am already using! I agree with Mac 1984 that maybe Unsanity is gone for good - they haven't updated their website or blog for several months.
