I've only just downloaded it, but it's great! Works for me :) Splits files perfectly, simply. Intuitive interface, and for the price, what a deal.

Book2Pod CommentaryRequires iPod firmware version 2.0 at least - Version: 1.2.2, 7/23/2005 10:38PM PST

If you don't already have Notes on your iPod, using this won't put them there. I have an old clickwheel iPod with version 1.5 firmware (the best Apple can do, although it runs Linux without too many surprises ;-). I do rather like the way this supports reqular expressions to mark chapter boundaries (the preview and setup stages work like a charm, just not the Send function.) Nice idea. Wish I hadn't spent $400 for an iPod that was obsolete in three months, a bit of stupidity Apple has taught me never to repeat.

This is an absolute necessity for any iPod owner - whether you know it or not. Try it once and you'll be hooked. Combined with Project Gutenberg (http://www.gutenberg.net/) you can have Thousands of books with you at any time.

THE best book-on-ipod software. Splits the files, has a nice chapter recognition feature, AND uses xml to link between chapters! Faaantabulous. Works perfectly, five stars.

Been looking for something like this for the ipod for a while. I got really feed up of printing out ebooks and didn't want to add another gizmo to carry around with me. I had already toyed with podtxt which worked through contacts, but the file fragments were quite small and having two books on at the same time was very confusing.
This however does what I want it to do. Very straight forward to install and mount the ipod. I copied a Doc savage book from a free ebook site, straight into word saved as text only. Had a little fiddle getting the chapter line break to work and ended up just copying the word "chapter" out off the show me window. Update the ipod and that was it. The ipod took 15 seconds or so to sort the notes the first time. The books are under their own name so can't get mixed up with others and the files are labeled by chapter and easy to navigate. only thing missing is a bookmark. Cheers, very nice little application
