Product Description:

XDrawChem is a two-dimensional molecule drawing program for Unix operating systems. It is similar in functionality to other molecule drawing programs such as ChemDraw (TM, CambridgeSoft). It can read and write MDL Molfiles, and read ChemDraw text and binary files, to allow sharing between XDrawChem and other chemistry applications, and it can create images in popular formats like PNG and EPS. XDrawChem has been tested on Linux, SGI IRIX 6.5, Sun Solaris, Windows and - finally - MacOSX.

What's new in this version:

  • compiled for MacOSX.

Known bug under Mac OS X: After program start, xdrawchem displays an "Please select file type from list" error. Simple click on "OK" - the program will start and work without problem.

gentle persons,

due to some error the libz-luibrary version 1.2.2 (or higher) was not included in the XDrawCHem 1.9.9 installer. I'm deeply sorry for that. As of 12.12.05, 11:00h - please download a newly packed installer which includes this library via the provided download link. Again: I'm sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused.

I get the following error:
Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libz.1.2.2.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/xdrawchem199/xdrawchem.app/Contents/MacOS/xdrawchem
Reason: Incompatible library version: xdrawchem requires version 1.2.0 or later, but libz.1.2.2.dylib provides version 1.0.0
