Product Description:

Macabinet is, quite simply, a ridiculously convenient place to put files. It is a theme-able, highly customizable drawer where you can store whatever files you like...and it slides out of your way when not in use!

Possible uses for Macabinet:
  • Store your downloaded files in Macabinet.
  • Keep your desktop free from "file clutter".
  • Store your commonly used documents in one convenient (and out of the way) location.
  • Store files you just don't have any other place for but want to keep.
  • And many users can use the same Macabinet Folder over a network to open up even more possibilities!

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a problem where Macabinet would not refresh the file list immediately when droping files on it.
  • Added a contextual menu to the Macabinet drawer to manually refresh the file list (should anyone ever need it).

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher (including Panther)

Some people are very ignorant. This is not dragthing. This does not cost 30 bucks. I am commenting on Macabinet. For what I need and want this does exactly that and does it without fault. I would recommend this utility for is simplicity and effectiveness.

Very good app. It is stable, simple, & useful. Now that I found out how to use those three dots on the right top of the cabinet... no more desktop clutter!

Take note that you can have as many Macabinet folder presets (pointing to any location) as you want. So I'm not sure how that "Conflicts with Mac OS architecture".

Your point about aliases is a good one though and is something that is in the works for Macabinet 2.
