A Nony Mouse
but surprisingly demanding on the video system. Not sure why. I downloaded the 1.01 version of this last week.. Now there's a 1.02? Hmm... why? They look to address nothing different.

The game still is terrible...it's even worse than before... sure I can rotate, but it's still a glorified screen saver...when it works!
I open the game, it crashes, I open a saved game, it crashes, I start a new character, it crashes, I sneeze, it crashes, I look away for a second it crashes, I leave it alone for 10 minutes, it crashes... get the idea, it crashes...
I have called up Feral, and they are looking into it, but for now I got a screen saver that doesn't even work...
I have three major complaints about full gameplay.
1. You can't switch the mouse buttons... please god please, make that the next update... every other game I have, you left click to move the character, and right click for special features... this game has it reversed... not to mention I'm a LEFTY! So it throws me for more of a loop...
2. Audio/Video synch, terrible, the audio plays to seconds after the video starts... in many cases this is intolerable.
3. Crashes ungodly amount of times, normally by the 7th pass of loading information I crash, I have removed the game, and the preferences, etc... and it still crashes. There is no excuse for this. This in all terms is ALPHA programming, mayhaps beta, but no way in hell should it of gone gold!

All I see is RED - Version: 1.0, 9/21/2003 11:36PM PST

Yeah, no matter what video setting I set to, everything is colored RED, like they just took out the green and blue channels. Also, the texture filtering seems to be turned off, so you get pixelated original Quake/PS1 style textures (high resolution, but pixelated)
I can't even play the demo - Version: 1.0, 9/15/2003 09:20AM PST

The authors erroneously choose video setting that my display can't handle. More and more game houses seem to be doing this lately.
All I see when I start the game is garbled/unsynched random lines of color on my display.
I see in the preferences to set the default screen size, but nothing pertaining to refresh rates.
Annoying, very annoying.

I liked it!

Very nice graphics at 32 bit. Realistic troop movement and control. Fluid and realistic battles. You have to route your troops, use tactics and terrain. Excellent view controls. You need at least a two button mouse with a scroll wheel/button. I used a Kensington Turbomouse Pro and it worked very well. Problems playing? If you can't figure this game out by reading the "Game Controls Manual.pdf" (in the downloaded installer folder), the tutorial and just by playing it, then you probably shouldn't be playing games like this anyway. If you like Myth and Warcraft, you'll like this elegant addition to the genre.

Cyberpawz, you dingleberry... true, the Tutorial in this demo is almost useless, and there seems to be absolutely no in-game help, which makes it very hard to figure out how to play. But a little persistence pays off. To get started, have Arthos (or whatever his name is) talk to the first village you come to, then set your peasants to Farming. From there, just follow the hints and prompts you receive in-game. To Farm, click on a peasant, then in the upper left click the tab that gives you access to basic buildings, then click on Farm, then place the farm with a right-click. Simple.
I never found a zoom in/zoom out control, but you can rotate the view: hold down the Option key, hold down left-click and drag the mouse from side to side.
Overall, looks like a really fun game. Huge maps, interesting graphics, good unit types, a good range of buildings. Slows down significantly when a lot of stuff is going on. I hope the full version contains some instructions so you don't have to play the first level 3 times just to get a handle on the controls.

A good screen saver.

This game is nothing but a glorified screen saver on my Dual 1.25 Ghz G4.
You can't do anything contrctructive in the game at all, you can't repair, build, or gather anything but wood...you can't even rotate the view.
They had better fix this issue before thinking about releasing it, for the game looks good, but not that good right now.
