The things this addresses are all stuff that needed to be fixed. Also I think the UI on Version 7 is much better than version 6..not so stiff and rigid, you can now seperate the individual parts and move them where you like or close individual parts altogether.. Now UB it operates fantastic on my intel Mac and is 2 to 3 times faster (on MY machine anyway) when it comes to rendering... Where as Poser 6 would hang up if I tried to quit looking for a particular obj or texture from the library, it no longer does this. You can render as a seperate process now.
Since I don't really buy Poser for the content it comes with (God KNOWS my 5 different runtime folders take up 60 some odd Gbs of space now) I am not bothered by the lack of clothes or props for Sidney or any of the Models that come with the higher priced versions. There are TONS of freebie items and then there are the literally hundreds of Poser stores on the web. I have used Poser since version 3 and this is, by far, the most stable version in my opinion.....
This new update (1.1) fixes the problems I saw with my Poser... The stuff most people complain about aren't faults with the program but just individual opinions on How it should run ( UI changes..etc.) and not really mistakes in the way it was made to run when you use it...(My picture dissappears when I push this button, not how come the button wasn't made to be on the top of the page instead of the bottom.. one is a problem the other is just an opinion based on personal choice).
For overall use I like Poser the best.. it has a medium learning curve (unlike say Maya) , the renders look good and there is Ton after ton of stuff out there to use and play with... so in MY OPINION, from the hard corp work direction to the hobby people just wanting a toy to play with, I think this covers most of all of them... and yes, maybe I am a (how did someone put it?) "FAN BOY" I say who else would know about the program and how it can be used but a person that spends 12 - 16 hours a day producing artwork with it...I worry about the results, NOT whether I like the placing of buttons and the like...you can learn any interface but you can't learn to be an artist except by doing it...
I am sure some person will come along and say why do I use so much space to comment but they won't be commenting on Poser just commenting on ME...lol

I've only had Poser 7 for a couple of weeks, so all I can really comment on is the improvements and the stability.
This is an incremental upgrade in most respects -- better rendering, better models. There aare some things, such as lip-synching, which are new to the product, but as I don't use Poser for animation, I can't really comment on them.
Despite what the nay-sayers say, the interface is fine. True, it doesn't match the classic OS X look, but neither, for that matter, do Apple Logic, Avid or DVD Studio Pro. This is nowhere near as off the wall as Bryce or Amapi.
In terms of stability, I never had any problems with Poser 6, on any machine, and I haven't detected any with Poser 7. This is by sharp contrast with, say, Poser 3, which was dangerously unstable.
Poser has evolved over the years to become a general graphic tool. We use it for medical illustration, graphic novels, comic art, and various advertising and marketing applications. We don't touch its animation capabilities — not because of quality, but because the degree of commitment it requires to animate with any tool goes beyond what we are able to put into any single project.
For a fairly low upgrade price, this is a good upgrade. However, the relative paucity of clothes and hairstyles for the new G2 models is disappointing.

Still there are some fundamental Problems which hold me back from buying the next Updates if not solved:
- No Global Illumination....come on! This is 2007!
- For HighRes Works not usable. I remember back to Version 4....I was hoping that v 5 will bring High res Textures and Models....lol...still the most stuff is only usable up to 3000x2000 or something....HELLO! Thism is 2007!
- No better from Scratch Solution for Hair! Still the Hair Paradigm is based on low Poly Models and Trans Maps. Even for Poser too unprofessional. In the real 3D Packages better Hair Solutions exist since Years. Since Poser is a low Level Product I do not await this....but hey...THIS IS THE YEAR 2007!
Please Senores Developers...Publishing every now and then a new Poser with new (low Poly) Models and new (low Res) Textures and without any mayor Innovation is not more than a easy way to use the Brand Name as a Cash Cow...nothing more...
Good Sides:
- Stable. I haven`t had any Crash since V5.
- It`s the only Solution for easy and fast Humans (and others) in 3D
- Have I already mentioned stability?
- Mhhhhhh
