Billiards ReviewStill rubbish - Version: 5.1, 8/8/2009 05:38AM PST

As someone else noted, there is a distracting logo in the middle of the table. Annoying.

The scale is all wrong. A real billiards table is much bigger in comparison to the size of the balls.

The ball colors are all wrong for a real game of billiards. And the number of balls bears no relationship to a real game.

The motion of the balls on the table is not realistic. Friction and gravity are being ignored at the expense of realism.

This whole game has a history of shit development. Either the developer pays no attention to feedback, he is a moron or he is determined to impose his own ideas of how the game should look, to the detriment of the game and of players of any computer analog, simply because of the income potential.

You should not play his game (oooh pun!) Reject this rubbish and try one of the alternatives. I've simply had enough of waiting until this develops into a game worth playing, I won't be back. I think he will never get it right. But, no doubt, he won't give up filing glowing "reviews" in fake names. What a loser.

I have this company's "Snooker" game, and it's okay.

The thing that really annoys me, though, is their logo right in the middle of the game table. I have requested that they remove this and until they do I will not support their business with anymore purchases.

Can you imagine playing a game of pool at your local gaming place, bar, whatever and right in the middle of the table you have to look at "Joe's Bar and Grill" while you are playing?

Get rid of the logo, please.

Billiards ReviewGreat Program! - Version: 5.0, 5/8/2009 05:37AM PST

I have actually played this game and it is a solid piece of programming. Billiards is very realistic, good physics and sound effects and is reasonably priced. It is as close to playing on a real table as you can get on a computer screen. Future improvements: ability to change view angle on the table and length of shot vector not affected by screen size.

an outrageously overpriced 2D-only game with unrealistic physics and a clunky interface, all that for 20$

Thanks again baKno for another "gem"

Horrible graphics, totally unrealistic motions. The movements of the balls are nothing like real world. Don't bother with such rubbish

This is a great game, and for less than $20 you get all these games. Simulation is very good, so are the options to play. It would be great if we can control the cue ball with more options, and also view the table "vertically" instead of horizontally all the time. But it's very enjoyable as is.
Great work....keep it up.

Billiards ReviewSuperior Simulation - Version: 3.1, 10/23/2008 11:44AM PST

Just to clarify, Billiards v3.1 now includes all five games, and players can choose either a Practice mode or Match mode (to play against a second person in the same room) in any of the games. Instructions on how to play each game are included.

The graphics in Billiards are all rendered in superior 3D, and in addition to the ball movement, the table also shows real-time ball shadows and glare. There are even realistic sound effects, and current scores are always visible.

Because of the processor power needed, however, I would not recommend Billiards for any Mac of the G4 era, or older. But on an iMac G5, for example, this game "rocks".

And customer support is excellent ... in my experience always getting same day response.

Billiards can be tried for free, and the purchase price is very reasonable ... especially since you are really getting five different games!
