Product Description:

IPSecuritas is a front-end of the Mac OS X IPSec subsystem built in the kernel and allows to configure and establish secure IP tunnels between your machine or network with a remote network (for example your office network) using the non-secure services offered by the Internet. IPSec is a well-defined and established IETF standard and is considered secure (as opposed to for example P2TP, which offers limited security).

What's new in this version:

  • X.509 certificates support
  • Tunnel status indication
  • ESP transport mode
  • Hostname for the remote IPSec device
  • AutoStart at system boot
  • Host to anywhere mode
  • Replace DNS settings while IPSec is active
  • Virtual local and remote IP addresses
  • Automatic initiation of the key exchange
  • Routing checks
  • Optionally stop IPSec if the computer goes to sleep, the network configuration changes or the application is quit
  • Better IKE logging
  • DHCP pass-through mode to allow DHCP lease updates while tunnel is active
  • AES 128, AES 192 and AES 256 available as phase 1 encryption methods
  • Main window is now resizable
  • It's now possible to force IPSecuritas to send a FQDN as USER_FQDN (necessary for some firewalls)

Bug Fixes
The following problems have been resolved:

  • IKE timeout customizable
  • DNS refresh after stopping IPSec working
  • Removed unsupported ciphering algorithms
  • FQDN and User FQDN distinction now works
  • Enhanced input field check
  • Fixed a possible crash at quit
  • Fixed wrong display of month in log
  • Made the default route detection more reliable
  • Adjusted default settings of new connections to meet most needs
  • Many more minor optical and functional fixes

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

IPSecuritas ReviewIPSecuritas - brilliant software! - Version: 3.4, 10/28/2009 07:25PM PST

I've been using IPSecuritas to connect to two different Juniper SSG-140 routers/security-devices (Melbourne office and Sydney office). IPSecuritas works beautifully. I was considering Equinux's "VPN Tracker" (expensive) but IPSecuritas does everything I need to do and for free!

The setup wizard works well and configures most of the settings required for my Juniper SSG-140 devices.

I found the Equinux documentation on configuring the Juniper SSG-140 helpful. The Equinux documentation goes into a bit more detail on setting up Extended Authentication (XAUTH) on the SSG-140. IPSecuritas supports Extended Authentication (XAUTH) nicely.

IPSecuritas - is fantastic.
I used version 3.1, then used the beta versions of 3.2 last year.
I've used it successfully connect to various Netgear VPN's FVG114P, FVS318, FVG318, FVS338.

The developer is very responsive. I'd recommend donating to help with the development - given what VPN tracker costs.

IPSecuritas ReviewWorks with SonicWALL TZ-170 !!! - Version: 3.1, 6/17/2008 10:22PM PST

Whoo-Hoo!! I'm finally able to connect to the SonicWALL TZ-170 at my client's location. This is a huge deal as the only other alternative was the WAY over-priced "VPN Tracker" software.

A big THANK YOU to the developer of IPSecuritas.
