Pandora - 2.6.1

I have used Pandora from it's creation. Does the job and well supported. I highly recommend it.

Love the idea of Pandora, and really like it when it works, but find it crashes an awful lot. Doesn't mention anything about it being a universal binary or not, so maybe it's just because I'm using it on a Macbook Pro. Not sure.

Hope future updates fix my little problem, because this is a gem.

This little app is outstanding, and the developer is very responsive to suggestions. It has helped me find all sorts of pics related to my interests without having to go through Usenet: specialty cars, photo equipment, animals, landscapes, etc. Hmmm, not a bit of that has anything to do with p0rn.

I don't really have a need for this kind of program, since my hard drive is too small to fill up with pictures. However, I like the idea and thought I'd test it out a bit. I must admit, it seems to work pretty well, and I'm particularly impressed by both the speed and stability (on this old Pismo, those are rare qualities these days). It seems to get spoofed by a good number of websites that attempt to hide or secure their images, but that's a never-ending battle that really can't be critiqued so long as NetScrape's developer continues to try and keep up with the web.

I only noticed one real issue, but it could just be a gremlin in my rusty old system. About half the time, the program seems to completely miss one of a series of images (i.e. out of twenty sequentially numbered jpegs from a single web page, image #7 was never downloaded and the log doesn't even show that it made the attempt). I haven't heard of anything like this yet, so it seems likely that the problem is unique to me.

I still haven't seen it corrupt a single image file, despite its impressive speed. I can't see a good reason not to try it out. It's a shame that my HD has barely enough space for a single AIM icon, otherwise I'd keep this application and register it in a heartbeat.

(Um...does anyone know how to stop it from adding numbers to the beginning of files? I never could figure that one out.)

This recent update addresses rabid_rick's concern that NetScrape hangs (spinning rainbow cursor) frequently. I worked with him in testing until he could confirm the problem was solved.
