Product Description:

Effortless Improvement uses subliminal messaging to aid in the cure of excess weight, low self esteem, addiction and much more, while you use your Macintosh.

Effortless Improvement places an almost completely transparent image on your screen. This image is tailored to your affliction and changes intermittently. The image covers all your open windows and applications, but it is so transparent that you will most likely be unable to consciously perceive it.

People, however, take in much more visual data than they consciously perceive and so your subconscious will probably absorb the messages' contents. The future decisions that you make will be influenced by your subconscious's perception. This fact allows you to lose weight, become more self assured, or quit smoking, more easily than before.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

I can't be sure, but classic no longer displayed graphics other than white boxes after installation. Once I removed the product everything went backto normal.

Not that I am a subscriber to the 'subliminal messages' theory, but surely if you wish to turn your daughter straight Boff then you would need to run the program on her computer, no?

On a more serious note though, I was under the impression we lived in a society now where people are encouraged to improve themselves through accepting who they (and their daughters) are, rather than trying to act 'normal' for the sake of fitting in.

Not that it's any of my business...

The inner workings of EI... just puts a transparent image over the top of your window (like a big transparent screensaver). Then, it just proceeds to cycle (no transitions! gah!) through images in the collections you click on. (earth to programmer:)I mean no offense, this seems like a cool beginning project, and I admire the way you've done it. However, it isn't worth 23 bucks (which I assume is going towards a RealBasic license). If you want, I can show you how to do this in Cocoa (would end up with a 100k end file, and it's free). Email me at dstaudi at san.rr.com if you want. For those who are curious, I find that you can pick out the images this program creates by layering some transparent windows (say a semitransparent terminal window) on top of white. Then, when I deactivate the terminal window (click somewhere else) the image magically appears. I also have had some luck picking it out with slight gradients across the screen. Anyhoo.... this is probably completely ineffective (sorry dev dude), and I doubt highly that you could even devise a test for this. High and lofty title (check), but no substantiation (and I don't think it's even possible).
