Product Description:

EasyDonkey takes care of all the configuration and launching tasks for MLdonkey. EasyDonkey has two different modes of operation, according to the user's choice :

With interface

In this mode, EasyDonkey displays a window with two tabs :

the first tab shows the status of MLdonkey (running or not running) and lets you launch or stop it.
the second tab lets you modify the settings of MLdonkey or of EasyDonkey. These modifications don't take effect before the next launch of MLdonkey.

Without interface

In this mode, EasyDonkey launches MLdonkey without any user action other than starting EasyDonkey.

After having launched MLdonkey, EasyDonkey quits, still without any user intervention. It is then possible to place EasyDonkey in the Login Items (in System Preferences) so that MLdonkey will be automatically launched every time you login.

If you wish to revert to the operation mode with interface or make modifications to the settings, start EasyDonkey while holding down the Option (or "alt") key. The interface of EasyDonkey will appear and MLdonkey will not be launched.

What's new in this version:

Now has an option to automatically launch the X11 interface
Fixed an issue with the refresh of EasyDonkey's interface after deep sleep
Allows you to monitor the status of MLdonkey through a changing Dock icon

Doesn't Seem to Work With MlMac 0.7.5 - Version: 1.0.2, 11/1/2004 09:01AM PST

I've just upgraded to MlMac 0.7.5 and EasyDonkey no longer seems to be able to start the mlnet daemon. It can kill it OK, but not start it. I've double-checked the location of the mlnet executable, and that's configured properly in EasyDonkey.

Now that it does work seamlessly with mlMac, this is a grrrreat app. I have just put it in my login items list, so that I have no longer need to worry if I forget to launch mlnet in order to resume my downloads on login.

Most of the time I am NOT surfing the web, so I do prefer to have it running without hassles and pause it whenever I need max bandwidth for other things, than the other way around (having it always off and turning it on in specific times). For that, launching it at startup is the deal.
