Product Description:

IdleWeb is a screen saver module for Mac OS X that allows you to load websites while you aren't using your computer. In addition, you can use the screensaver as a wallpaper.

Keep in mind though that this is not a webbrowser.

NOTE
Please don't use IdleWeb if you have an old version of Safari installed. Safari versions prior to 1.0 v85.5 have a bug that cause IdleWeb to create a lot of network traffic, which is bad for both you and the site you're displaying with IdleWeb.

Please upgrade to Safari version 1.0 v85.5 or later before using IdleWeb!

What's new in this version:

  • redesigned options window
  • added the ability to use the screensaver as a wallpaper (on the Desktop)
  • added the ability to prevent autoscrolling
  • added the ability to only scroll when the page is fully loaded
  • added the abillty to enable or disable a bookmark
  • added the ability to change the url of a bookmark
  • added drag & drop: either from a webbrowser like Safari, a .webloc file or from IdleWeb itself to change the order of the bookmarks
  • IdleWeb is now aware if a page is still loading
  • code optimization

NOTE: it is recommended you remove the old preferences file. This file can be found here ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.edotstudios.idleweb.plist (where ~ is your home folder)

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

IdleWeb CommentaryIdleweb is back (in UB) ! - Version: 2.0, 7/4/2006 02:14PM PST

So glad my favorite "screensaver" (although I'm not quite using it that way) is back.
Both Tiger compatible AND Universal Binary !
Great job Jesus !

Anyone who doesn't know this app should check it out.

Maybe one demand Jesus: there is a new way the web page is scrolling ; I prefered the previous one (the "1.3" one) . The top the webpage appeared, then after a while, the next screen appeared, and so on, without scrolling.
Could you get that way as an option ?
Thanks !

IdleWeb ReviewAsk for a new Idleweb ! - Version: 1.3, 7/21/2005 08:02AM PST

Hello everyone

May I ask anyone, even remotely interestedy by this app (AND THEY SHOULD BE ;) ) to ask for a 10.4 Tiger compatible one ?

Just ask for it at http://www.edot-studios.com/webgroups2/.

>We have received some messages from people that have noticed that >IdleWeb (our webloading screensaver) doesn't work in Tiger. The current >version of IdleWeb has been discontinued, but this doesn't mean that a new >version of IdleWeb is possible.

>So we ask you to let us know, either by mail or the message box, if you >want us to make a new version of IdleWeb. If we receive enough messages >we will start working on it, otherwise no new version will be planned.

Thank you !

IdleWeb Troubleshooting ReportNot 10.4 compatible ? - Version: 1.3, 7/3/2005 01:31PM PST

Hello everyone
Is it working in Tiger ?
Because I have many bugs with it since upgrading to 1.4 :
- I can't add or get rid of URL in the options
- I can't move -up or down- the URLS
- I've tried to throw the prefs and add the URLs from scratch : worked first then same results
...
To make it short : it doesn't work anymore (used to work fine on Jaguar)

Do you have the same problems ?

Thanks !
