Product Description:

The Missing Sync for Symbian syncs your Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola Symbian OS mobile phones with your Mac. Automatically synchronize personal contacts, calendars and tasks, plus your favorite music, photos, videos and files.

Sync contacts, calendars and tasks
Connect your phone with Mac OS X and synchronize contacts, calendars and tasks with iCal, Address Book and Microsoft Entourage.

Automatic synchronization
The Missing Sync for Symbian features Proximity Sync(tm) technology. This new approach to synchronization uses Bluetooth to sync data automatically when your Mac and phone are close to each other.

Sync music, videos, photos and files
The Missing Sync works with iPhoto and iTunes so you can take music, photos and videos with you wherever you go. The Missing Sync downloads iPhoto albums to your phone and resizes each image to fit the screen. Import video and pictures you take with your mobile phone's camera into iPhoto, easily. And, synchronize documents so they can be viewed and edited with handheld applications such as Quickoffice or Adobe Reader LE.

The Missing Sync for Symbian ReviewNot bad to start with but they did no effoirt in fixing the bugs - Version: 1.0, 6/7/2009 01:21PM PST

I have been using this program for a long time. Unfortunately, eventhough it looks promising and has a couple of interesting feature, the developer provided no update since the release (almost a year now) to fix bugs that have been unknowledged even by the moderators at their support forum. For example it is impossible to sync your call log....
For a product that expensive i was hoping for a better support and more frequent updates... so just 2 stars from me...
At least the developers should let us know if they are still working on this or if they have abandoned it completely.

The Missing Sync for Symbian ReviewNot recommended for Sony M600i - Version: 1.0, 5/10/2009 03:52AM PST

I have struggled with this application for several months now with my Sony Ericsson M600i. It is sometimes possible to synchronize, as long as only one function (e.g., calendar) is selected at a time and you are prepared to reboot both the computer and phone several times in the process. The issues usually relate to difficulty in establishing or maintaining a connection but I have had repeated crashes at various times. I have found that the program seems to work more reliably if you initiate synchronization from the phone rather than the computer. Technical support have been friendly and responded quickly but basically have been of little assistance. The much promoted proximity synching is just farcical – it is an achievement to get anything to synchronize, even once. Based on my experience, if you are looking for the hassle free synchronization of iSync, a phone that relies on the Missing Sync for Symbian should not be on your shopping list. If you have no other option and are really desperate, you may be willing to live with the unreliable synchronization, wasted time and constant frustration. It is interesting the the program remains at version 1.0, a full 9 months after it was released. I can only assume that making it work reliably is not a high priority.

The Missing Sync for Symbian CommentaryNot to be compared with Palm version - Version: 1.0, 2/2/2009 10:25PM PST

Finally I couldn't wait any longer for the next Palm, and as my provider doesn't sell iPhones, I had to go for Nokia. What a huge step back. Of course I purchased a license for Missing Sync again because it's such a brilliant addition for the Palm.

But you cannot compare the versions, except for the user interface. The Symbian version is missing important features - like USB support and profiles -, in the first go it caused havoc in my calendar (I had a backup), and most important: it's unstable and has to be reinstalled from time to time.

So I'll return to the native syncing until there's a substantial version upgrade.
