YAAC ReviewDoes what it should - Version: 1.0, 5/15/2004 09:46PM PST

Steve Davidson
First point: I posted the first review of this title, which I've asked the VersionTracker people to remove (after much research and time on the Apple Discussion boards, the Installer problem seems to have been fixed, and the cause is unlikely to be related to YAAK).

Second point: I use YAAK to convert AIF to MP3, and it does just what it should and does it well.

Final point: I wish it were better documented. While the UI is simple, there are some details that are lacking. Also some information in fill-in fields should be cleared when changing files (such as title). With a little more polish, and this could be a big it.

YAAC ReviewWarning: May cause sudo corruption - Version: 1.0, 2/16/2004 09:14PM PST

Steve Davidson
Right after running YAAK for the first time today (and letting it install the libraries), I found that /Applications/Installer failed to work. Then I found that sudo permissions were munged, and to make a long story short, I now have to use the freeware software 'rooter' to run the installer (or the installer -- even with authentication can't write to /tmp), and had to un-scramble permissions in order to use sudo (and no, Apple's Disk Utility doesn't help there).

If the author of YAAK is reading this, please describe what you did (I can't find a log) so I can get my Mac OS X 10.3.2 PowerBook G4 back to the way it was,

YAAC Usage TipApp crashes at startup - Version: 1.0, 2/9/2004 09:55AM PST

John_MacCallum
[Note from Developer]: Unfortunately, the system requirement should be 10.3. I added some code that works with Panther only and which is causing the app to crash at startup for some of you. I'm terribly sorry for any inconvenience. If it's not too difficult, I'll post a new version that works with 10.2.
