Product Description:

OraCal2iCal (previously CT2iCal) copies your personal Oracle Calendar (AKA CorporateTime) into iCal, so you can synch your calendar to any device that will synch with iCal (iPod, Phone, MissingSync device, etc) or just look at it in the iCal interface.

What's new in this version:

A minor update to OraCal2iCal was released today. This version deals mostly with alarms. It is now possible to strip out alarms from the incoming calendar (to avoid duplicates) and all alarms are pulled from all day events (to keep those of us who use them from having a bunch of midnight alarms going off on our phones/ipods, etc).

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9

Additional Requirements:

  • iCal 1.5 or greater
  • Mac OS X 10.3 or 10.4
  • Oracle Calendar OS X application
  • Mac OS X 10.2.3 can be used if System Events Beta is installed (see ReadMe)

OraCal2iCal ReviewGreat solution for iPhone - Version: 2.9.7, 8/21/2007 08:07AM PST

I use Oracle Calendar at work and need to sync my calendar with my iPhone. Unfortunately, the only options I have are to manually export the Oracle Calendar data and import into iCal or to view my calendar through iPhone's Safari. The problem with the Safari option is not having the alarms pop up to remind me to go to a meeting.

I installed OraCal2iCal and it worked well. I did have one issue in that my Daily Notes and Day Events in Oracle Calendar were importing as 24 hour events on the day and time I ran the program. I contacted the developer and he was amazing. Not only was he extremely responsive but he helped me fix the issue within a few hours of contacting him. He believes it has to do with my newer version of Oracle Calendar.

With the addition of running a Cron job (using CronniX) to run his program daily, I can now pseudo-sync my Oracle Calendar with iCal and my iPhone. Thank you so much for this great app! This is worth so much more than $1.

OraCal2iCal CommentaryWhat does it do? - Version: 2.9.5, 1/9/2007 08:23AM PST

Sorry if I'm missing something. I can get my Oracle calendar imported into my iCal without this, but the process is kind of cumbersome: Open my Oracle client; export the calendar; close Oracle client; open iCal; delete the calendar from last import (otherwise I get duplicate entries); import the new (.ics? I think) file; close iCal. What steps does this script take care of? What I'd really like to do is have my Oracle Calendar synced with one of my iCal Calendars in the middle of the night, so that when I synced my iPod in the morning, I'd get the most up to date version of the Oracle Calendar on their (as well as the other Calendars iCal tracks for me). Does this script make this possible? I mean $1 more than reasonable for any functional piece of software, but I'd like to know what exactly it's meant to do before I mess with it.

Allows me to use the simple calendaring featrues of my SE T637 by pushing Oracle Calendar events (which my employer unfortunately uses). Has worked smashingly with OC 9 and 10 (currently on 10.1.2.0.0.710), developer support has been Grade A+. Recommended if you're forced to use OC.
