When you launch this application it runs in the background till you kill it on the Terminal or you log out. There is a configuration file (plain text) where you can change some settings like the time interval in seconds, the name of the destination folder (which can be an alias) and the quality of the JPEG compressor in percent.
The files are named e.g. "2003-06-05-21-42-48-0.jpg". Year, month, day, hour, minute, second and ID of the screen. It should work with multiple screens, but it's not tested.

I would say that it can take your basic video monitoring program and make it into a simple security system without having to pay for it. It would be even better if I find it to be non cpu intensive, unlike bouncing doc items or mail checking every two minutes.

Timed Screenshot Usage Tipto Rowan - Version: 1.0, 1/6/2004 04:39AM PST

1. To capture a webcam or a live event.
2. to prepare a presentation
3. to capture the screen for troubleshooting (e.g. changing colours, flashing pixels, etc).
these are from the top of my head.
