zimbopEven though I have other Finder type applications such as PathFinder there there is nothing that can replace Finder Window Manager for an instant look at the status of a whole bunch of folders. And only $10.
Having the ability to remember any number of Window "sets", including every little detail of how the window is setup (type of view, sorting, which columns, do they calculate sizes and so on) is great. There seems to be only a handful of applications that attempt this and FWM is the best by a royal mile.
There's quite a depth to this little app and many options, if you're forever shunting files around between folders then you can make the whole laborious task one hell of a lot nicer with this.
BTW, support is first class and errr, no, I'm not the developer :)

zimbopWorking in graphics as I do, I'\m continually shunting and sorting graphics files of one sort or another from one place to another. Until I've developed the bespoke applescript of doom to do it for me (very unlikely!) this is the only thing that can speed up the operation. The degree of control is excellent and the app hasn't had any reliability problems whatseoever.
In an instant I can call up a window set (as many windows as I like ... 5, 10 whatever) and see the exact contents of several different folders all at once, and all precisly placed on the desktop and showing in the view I selected.
Brilliant, and $10, well it's nothing for the time it saves me. This app has made me noticeably more productive.

argy_1Works well enough, but I thought this was a Finder window controlling app. I nearly pooped myself when other app windows also disappeared. Expose does my desktop sorting.

Notary SojacThis happens all the time when we hook up or unhook our TiBook from its 21" monitor. Mozilla & Word especially lose track of what screen they opened on last. At least Word has a "tile windows" command...
FWM is getting better all the time!

altereggFWM works great, it is frequently updated with new features and the price is RIGHT - what more can you ask for!
I also bought FolderControl for more than twice the price, but I haven't used it after I found FWM.
The new Watcher fuction is also very nice.
In short: this utility is a true time-saver. Thanks for the autor!
Turns out it is possible to control window positions from the keyboard with another app, Keyboard Maestro, which can record macros. Don't know yet whether it can do this automatically, as could Finder Window Manager.
