Product Description:

Finder Window Manager (FWM) is an application for managing all of your Mac OS X Finder window needs. This application allows you to create Window Sets to remember the size, placement, and all the view options of your open windows. Once a Window Set has been created, you can move, close, or otherwise modify your windows and easily restore the captured Window Set properties, opening all of your Set windows and recreating the windows' views--and you can have an unlimited number of Window Sets. When you have many projects in various windows, this application quickly becomes indispensable. While FWM provides an easy-to-use interface for managing Window Sets, this feature is just the tip of the iceberg of this application's capabilities.

Other features:
  • Close All Windows
  • Close All Windows Except Front
  • Collapse All Windows
  • Collapse All Windows Except Front
  • Expand All Windows

What's new in this version:

  • Added option to keep existing Finder windows open when restoring a Set (you can set the default to keep the windows open and toggle the setting on the fly when restoring a Set with the Option key held down).
  • Added initial support for stacking & tiling windows in applications other then the Finder. Two new utilities, "Stack Windows in Frontmost Application" and "Tile Windows in Frontmost Application", will attempt to arrange the windows of the active application. The basic preferences for stacking and tiling (offsets, number of tiles, etc.) will be used when arranging application windows.

This excellent utility just keeps getting better. The option to keep other windows open is welcome, as is the ability to tile (or stack) windows in applications other than the Finder. So far I've only tried it with Safari but it works fine. I have a friend who needs the tile feature for Safari so this update is timely.

One of the best computer related $10 I ever spent. Finally this idiotic Icon View can be automatically changed into List View in all Finder windows, and all windows open always exactly as I want it. The bug with the Watcher (has to be activated again and again everytime you start your computer) should get fixed, though!

Great to see this fantastic little application return, I've tested it and it's working great in 10.4 Tiger.

Even though I have other Finder type applications such as PathFinder there there is nothing that can replace Finder Window Manager for an instant look at the status of a whole bunch of folders. And only $10.

Having the ability to remember any number of Window "sets", including every little detail of how the window is setup (type of view, sorting, which columns, do they calculate sizes and so on) is great. There seems to be only a handful of applications that attempt this and FWM is the best by a royal mile.

There's quite a depth to this little app and many options, if you're forever shunting files around between folders then you can make the whole laborious task one hell of a lot nicer with this.

BTW, support is first class and errr, no, I'm not the developer :)
