path is not hardcoded - Version: 1.0.1, 7/21/2003 08:32AM PST
CNG2
The path is not really hardcoded; it just defaults to /sw/bin/xmahjongg since most users seem to be using Fink. You can change it in Prefs to whatever is right for your system. And if you have PATH setup properly, then just enter "xmahjongg" and it will be found. Note that the PATH setup in shell rc files (eg .bashrc) doesn't apply to GUI apps; you need to setup the .MacOSX/environment.plist instead. (See http://developer.apple.com/qa/qa2001/qa1067.html for more details on setting environment variables for GUI processes.)
hardcoded path /sw/bin/xmahjongg is ok, but... - Version: 1.0.1, 7/21/2003 07:57AM PST

Why not use /usr/bin/env xmahjongg? Not everyone uses sw. Some prefer /usr, others prefers /usr/local, some use /opt, and Fink enforces /sw (which causes problems with 3rd party apps -- like Virex -- that dork with the contents of lib directories). And, just fyi, my .bashrc file has always exported a correct PATH and MANPATH, so...........
Anyway, this seems to work ok now.

Doesn't Remember Path... - Version: 1.0, 7/18/2003 05:13PM PST

The problem with the path not being remembered has been reported by others. It is not a problem for all users as prefs are being read. I will release a new version as soon as I can find and fix the problem. [This was also posted as a developer note which doesn't seem to be appearing.]
