Product Description:

iChat only recognized Firewire cameras. With iUSBCam, you can use most any QuickTime compatible video source for video conferencing in iChat. This includes USB webcams! Also, iUSBCam enables video conferencing on G3 computers which fall below Apple's minimum CPU speed requirements.


iUSBCam also lets you adjust your camera's brightness, contrast, and more.


Use iUSBCam to enable your G3 for DV cameras such as the iSight.

What's new in this version:

  • The 2.2.4 includes minor enhancements. The name has been changed from iChatUSBCam to iUSBCam.

Installed easily with my Macally webcam. Worked fine in iChat, although the picture is grainy... Well worth a few bucks to effectively video-enable iChat!

The recently released Mac OS X 10.4.9 now supports USB webcams. So is there really any need for this software any more?
