Blows compared to Photoshop's built-in Shadow/Highlight tool

- Version: 1.1.7, 5/5/2004 05:29AM PST

Using similar settings to lighten an underexposed image with ShadowFixer and with Photoshop's Shadow/Highlight filter, ShadowFixer dropped a good deal of the midrange contrast out of the image, leaving it looking dull and undersaturated. Photoshop's built-in Shadow/Highlight adjustment works much better for these sorts of images.
Still, nice to see people making filters that work in 16-bit. Kudos for that, at least.

Fixer Bundle - Version: 1.1.3, 12/23/2003 05:21AM PST

No new version of Fixer Bundle posted. Does new version accept same registration number as present bundle (1.2.3 which includes Shadow Fixer 1.1.2)? Registration scheme was changed recently to one installation and don't wish to experiment if I can't reinstall the present bundle.
We have sent 3 emails over the last 2 months and had no response.
The telephone number for the company on VersionTracker is disconnected.
The telephone number on their current WHOIS information is disconnected.
We have called 3 times the telephone number currently listed on their website www.fixerlabs.com, each time we received an answering machine. We left a message each time and no one has returned our calls.
We messaged them through the webform on their website and also left feedback on their feedback form. We have not had any reply.
We contacted Computers Unlimited their UK distributor who are listed on their website as the current UK distributor of their products. They say they do not currently distribute any Fixerlabs products and cant remember when they last did it was so long ago. The person listed as their contact at Computers Unlimited has not been with the company for some time.
We needed to speak to Fixerlabs regarding our licence and because we quite liked the product and were recommending it to our colleagues and clients. Unfortunately we cannot use the products we purchased as we cannot contact them about our licence. Clearly now we will no longer be recommending their products purely on the basis they do not seem to care about their customers.
We are a professional media company and have dealt with many small and large software companies and have always had a response or been able to contact other companies. We would recommend that if you wish to use these pretty good applications from Fixerlabs that you bear in mind the problems contacting the company and the lack of up to date information on their website.
