BuddyPop CommentaryBuddyPop not working on G4 running Leopard - Version: 2.5.6, 4/15/2008 01:08PM PST

Just a warning -- I've been using BuddyPop for years, then upgraded my G4 Quicksilver to 10.5.2 and BuddyPop no longer works. The Apple Internal Modem does not dial (there's a discussion thread about the issue at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6935046). I know the modem is OK because other comms programmes like ZTerm operate normally. So it is a software issue -- either with 10.5.2 or BuddyPop (or both).

I've emailed the developer twice over the last 3 weeks but have not received any response. So I can't confirm that BuddyPop is still supported.

BuddyPop CommentaryAddress display / Update check - Version: 2.5.5, 12/22/2007 02:29PM PST

Ever since I moved to Leopard, I have been unable to get BuddyPop to display address details even though I have checked the address field to display in the app's preference settings. It displays all other address book fields happily. I don't know if anyone else has had this experience?

I've also just noticed that clicking on the 'Check for new version' button freezes the app. and I have to Force Quit it using Activity Monitor. (I was alerted to the latest version (2.5.5) on one of my regular checks of VT.)

BuddyPop Troubleshooting ReportDial by Modem crashes Buddy - Version: 2.5.4, 12/1/2007 07:47AM PST

I have an intel mac with leopard. I downloaded and installed. I right click on a phone number and select Dial by Modem and it freezes. There is no way to remove it from the screen except by rebooting. I would reboot, find a name, right click on a number and boom...does it each time. I did set up my USB modem but even if i did that incorrectly, doesn't seem like it should just freeze.

Great Idea, love that people are having such success with it.
