Product Description:

StepMania is a rhythm game. Arrows pointing in different directions scroll up from the bottom of the screen and the player must hit the corresponding button in time to the music. The game can be played with your hands using the keyboard, but the real fun comes when using a sensor-laden "dance pad". StepMania has Game Modes similar to Konami's Dance Dance Revolution and Andamiro's Pump It Up, Amuseworld's EZ2Dancer, and Konami's Para Para Paradise. Support for more games is planned in the future.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed menu timer running song roulette on course selection.
  • Fixed OnCommand being played twice when song BGA layers first gain focus.
  • Fixed options screen not always importing course difficulty.
  • Fixed secondary Pump controller auto-mapping.
  • Fixed negative DP scores (good attacks) being graded E instead of D.
  • Fixed ScreenSelectStyle tween-out.
  • Fixed course sort crashes.
  • Fixed missing graphics on rankings screen.
  • Fixed error reason not being displayed on failure opening SM/DWI/BMS files.
  • Fixed editor crash in "Show Steps Statistics" on 16-foot and higher songs.
  • Fixed scrollbar flickering.
  • FFMpeg 0.4.9 is now required (previously 0.4.8).
  • Linux: Fixed libjpeg searching.
  • Linux: ALSA device can be changed via the SoundDevice option in StepMania.ini.
  • Stats are now rendered with XSL.
  • Title menu accepts MenuLeft and MenuRight.
  • NoteSkin step metrics are now controllable per-judgement.
  • When no profile is loaded in event mode, save scores with name "EVNT".
  • Added translits: tsuyoizo hoshi no senshi, Guri Guri, Miyagawa Akira.
  • Added "Yuujou" kanji.
  • Adjusted "hoshi no umi kaze no yume" translit.
  • When in "SM options navigation", pressing start in the options menus only moves to the "exit" row, instead of going directly to the next screen. This ensures that both players have a chance to set options.
  • Theme change: _shared fonts in "Numbers" are now named "_numbers". (This is to differentiate them from the _shared fonts in Fonts.) .redir files need updating.

If you are a ddr freak and a mac freak then step right up! This program works flawlessly with many different songs and you can custimize it with themes, annoucers, and dancers. This is also the most solid release yet, with the only problem being is that when you go to select and mix, the banners for the mixes and blurry and low res looking.

Whenever I get to the stage to pick music, the game doesn't want to go any farther. To bad, the game looked pretty cool.

With the fix of the recent missing song banner bug, and the sound stuttering bug fixed once and for all in the last release, this is the best release yet!
Way to go devs, bring on the final!
