Product Description:

The burn process in iDVD3 is shortened considerably if MPEG2 encoding is completed in the background before starting the burn.
The problem is: What happens if you have a bunch of projects you want to encode before starting to burn any of them? The manual method requires you to keep track of the encoding status and then, when it's done, to save the current project and open the next. It requires you to oversee the whole process, which means you cannot encode them overnight when the computer is otherwise unoccupied, unless you're willing to get up every hour or so to switch projects.
ayeDVD Batcher allows you to "set it and forget it". Just define the projects you want to encode and start the encoding process. The projects will be processed sequentially, with each project being opened and staying open for as long as it takes to encode it.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a problem where the batch list could be modified during the encoding process.
  • Added a confirmation dialog to be displayed when attempting to quit ayeDVD Batcher during the encoding process.
  • Fixed a problem at the beginning of the encoding process where ayeDVD Batcher was not detecting that iDVD had a project loaded when iDVD's window was minimized to the Dock.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or later (AppleScript Studio 1.2 or later)
  • iDVD3 (earlier versions may work but are officially unsupported)

ayeDVD Batcher CommentaryBest Quality batching with iDVD5? - Version: 0.2.1, 2/2/2005 03:30PM PST

Will there be a new version of ayeDVD Batcher now that iDVD5 has been released? Since the quality of iDVD3 is so poor, I have been redoing everything with iDVD4. Unfortunately, iDVD4 can't be run in batch when you select Best Quality. Since iDVD5 provides the option to write to a disk image, is it suitable for batching?

ayeDVD Batcher Developer NoteBurning not supported from AppleScript - Version: 0.2.1, 1/1/2004 10:08PM PST

The AppleScript dictionary for iDVD does not support a burn command. If it did, I would have likely implemented a first project auto-burn feature. The only things supported are project file commands (creation, opening, and saving) and layout commands (e.g. title positioning).

ayeDVD Batcher Commentarysuggestion for a new feature - Version: 0.2.1, 12/2/2003 08:10AM PST

First, I want to say that ayeDVD Batcher is a wonderful piece of software. I'm converting old sports video tapes to DVD, and ayeDVD Batcher saves me countless hours by allowing me to set up large batch jobs overnight (several games at a time).

I have a suggestion for a new feature. The idea would be to have ayeDVD Batcher burn one DVD at the end of the batch job. When I get up in the morning to start processing DVD's, this would save me 30 to 40 minutes because the first DVD would be done.
