Product Description:

DockTimer is a simple egg timer programm. It reminds you to your Tea, Pizza or "just after five minutes".

What's new in this version:

  • scaling the sound level is now possible
  • the selectable alert sounds now include the system sounds and sound files from your ~/Library/Sounds/ folder
  • Last Timer menu item added to recall the last used timer
  • shortcuts for the important menu items (cmd-l, cmd-., cmd-t)
  • a separate window displays the remaining time
  • removed/reordered some of the old settings
  • donations are possible now

Very simple. Works very well. Good fun. My only issue is an inability to import my own sounds; but I've experienced this with other apps. previously, so hey!

After leaving DockTimer running for more than ten or fifteen minutes, it uses huge amounts of RAM: 200+ MB of real memory, 600+ MB of virtual memory. This slows my system to a crawl. Great program otherwise, but this needs to be fixed.

DockTimer reads sound files from 2 places. It reads from "DockTimer.app/Contents/Resources/" and it reads from the default sounds in "/System/Library/Sounds" if you modify either of these you can use any sound file you want. Of course both will require permissions changes and may change the stability of the application, but it's possible.
