Very simple. Works very well. Good fun. My only issue is an inability to import my own sounds; but I've experienced this with other apps. previously, so hey!

DockTimer ReviewMassive memory usage - Version: 2.0, 11/15/2004 10:09AM PST

After leaving DockTimer running for more than ten or fifteen minutes, it uses huge amounts of RAM: 200+ MB of real memory, 600+ MB of virtual memory. This slows my system to a crawl. Great program otherwise, but this needs to be fixed.

DockTimer Usage TipThere is a way that you can play any sound - Version: 2.0, 10/8/2004 04:27PM PST

gezmo
DockTimer reads sound files from 2 places. It reads from "DockTimer.app/Contents/Resources/" and it reads from the default sounds in "/System/Library/Sounds" if you modify either of these you can use any sound file you want. Of course both will require permissions changes and may change the stability of the application, but it's possible.

DockTimer ReviewNice! - Version: 2.0, 5/16/2004 06:39PM PST

Pres!
Very nice! Putting the timer info in the dock itself is great!

Like others have said, I'd like the ability to use any sound file I wanted, and the ability to pause and resume a timer.

Also note that the bullets in the dock menu list show up as yen signs on a Japanese system. Just a cosmetic problem though.

The Documentation is very professional looking and well thought out. Keep up the great work.

DockTimer ReviewPause Function - Version: 1.0, 1/30/2004 12:11PM PST

Nice little app, use for timing learning sessions. As others have said access to more sound options would be nice.

My main request would be for the facility to pause a running timer.

Also the option to count up as well as count down would be nice.

DockTimer CommentaryLimited sound options - Version: 1.0, 1/20/2004 02:53PM PST

You have two options for alert sounds: a rooster crow, or a quiet "ahem." The rooster crow is cute, but hardly appropriate in my office. Meanwhile, the "ahem" is a bit too quiet to notice.

I'd like to see more sound options. I'd like to see a list of all available alert sounds on my system, along with an option to simply use whatever default sound is set in the System.

Otherwise, it's a handy little app. Yay for freeware.

i tested man freeware egg-timer-apps. it is possible to set predefined (named) Timer. Then you can start one of the predef. timer from the dock. The rest time is showing also in the dock.
