Blizzard Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Troubleshooting ReportWarcraft cannot be launched after update - Version: 1.23a, 4/20/2009 01:55PM PST

I've reinstalled 3 times and tried patching to v1.23a TFT full patch through Battle.net and the stand alone updater. I can't launch WarCraft after the patch is applied. I get an informative startup message that says something like "Warcraft cannot be opened".

Running it on a 1.25GHz eMac with Mac OS X v10.4.11

The funny thing is that this is on an external drive with a clean install that I am getting ready to put into the eMac. There should be no preference or conflict issues. It's a clean system.

Anyone else with problems?

Blizzard Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Commentary1.22a Patch Notes - Version: 1.22a, 7/11/2008 07:14AM PST

JMHammer
Here are the patch notes, in case you're wondering what 1.22a does. By the way, connecting to Battle.net will automatically download and install this update.

- There is now a replay auto-save feature in the options menu. Replays
are automatically saved to the "replay" folder.
- The game is now automatically saved in the event of a potential
disconnect. These saved games are placed in the "save" folder.
- Player color selection can now be limited by the number of players in
the game using an option in the "Advanced Options" screen during game
creation.
- Added an option to always show unit and building health bars.
- You can now enable and disable the display of minimap signals
from players and other observers using chat commands:
/showminimapsignals and /hideminimapsignals.
- Added a new in-game cheat "maxfps" to limit the maximum frame rate to
the given number. Example: "maxfps 30" will set the maximum frame rate
to 30 FPS.

Blizzard Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne CommentaryThe difference between 1.21 and 1.21b - Version: 1.21b, 2/9/2008 12:00AM PST

JohnMHammer
1.21b allows the game to be played without the need for a CD in the drive or a mounted disk image.

Would have been nice if that were listed here. I found out only because the game auto-updated itself when I logged in to Battle.net and the patch notes following the update stated this.

You have to go to /user/Library/Preferences/ and toss out anything that has Blizzard or Warcraft in it's filename.

After that everything worked just fine.

Blizzard Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne CommentaryPatch makes UB, nothing else. - Version: 1.21, 1/22/2007 09:24PM PST

This patch makes the game run natively, but it doesn't improve the stability on Intel Macs. Slightly better performace, but not much else.

Blizzard Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne CommentaryCrashes on Quad G5 - Version: 1.21, 1/22/2007 08:15PM PST

Dester Wallaboo
After downloading the 1.21 updater I can no longer select OPTIONS. Clicking on the options button causes Warcraft III to crash.

Quad G5 2.5Ghz
6GB RAM
NVidia 7800GT 256MB OEM
Loads of drive space
Mac OS X 10.4.8 with all updates
