iPodRip ReviewWhen good software goes bad - Version: 3.9.1, 5/26/2008 11:30PM PST

Krippler--2008
Just wanted to add my frustration to the pile here and pull the bell curve of the overall ratings back down to earth a little. I paid for this software and used it a few times over the course of a year. Now it's worthless.

I used this program for years with no problems. After I upgraded/installed v3.9.1, now the program won't start. I get an error that reads:

"AFRegistration error

AF Registration failed with message:

(012) One or more of the registration files are missing.

If you think this message is in error please contact support@thelittleappfactory.com"

I tried to contact the support team twice but like the other reviews here, NO RESPONSE. Don't buy this product... it's broken!

iPod Rip was once the only kid on the block when it came to funneling music from iPod to iTunes and it worked great. So I bought and used it, albeit occasionally, since it's not something one needs to do often.

Recently however, I obtained a new MacBook Pro and reloaded my 3.9.1 version of iPod Rip only to discover that the function it can accomplish is a "Hard Recover" to my desktop. What?

The program claims my iPod is either new or the database is corrupt. So I wipe my iPod clean and restore the software and load one playlist from iTunes as a test.

Nada, nothing! The same result; Hard Recover, new iPod or corrupt database. I have emailed thelittleappfactory 4 times with absolutely no response. These guys have gone fishing and won't be back anytime soon I guess.

So I bought PodWorks from another vendor ($8) and Voila! it sees my iPod and transfers the playlist to iTunes like butter......

iPod Rip is now iPod Rest In Peace!!!!! Try Pod Works, which seems to work just fine.
