Product Description:

EVONE, the Escape Velocity Override Nova Editor, is a dedicated plugin editing program for Ambrosia Software's Escape Velocity series of games. EVONE makes the process of creating quality plugins easy and quick. The many graphical editors allow you to see exactly what you are changing inside the editor - no more launching EV once every five minutes, only to find you entered an invalid number in one of ResEdit's ubiquitous text fields. To ensure stable plugins that work reliably, EVONE error-checks every field and alerts you to any problems. In most cases, however, you can simply check a box or select a choice from a popup menu and leave it to EVONE to fill out the field.

Features:
  • Native on both OS 9 and X
  • Complete, easy-to-use editors for all resource types in EV, EVO, and EVN
  • Graphical, high-level editors to ease plugin creation
  • Low-level editors for field-by-field editing if you prefer complete control
  • Automatic file backups to guard against corruption
  • Powerful search engine to easily locate specific resources
  • Drag-and-drop graphical galaxy and syst editors
  • Drag-reorder resources to organize a plugin into folders
  • "Run" the plugin with a single click - a huge timesaver when testing
  • State-of-the-art ResEdit template driver - EVONE can now edit any resource you have templates for
  • Built-in hex editor, if you prefer precise control
  • Ability to convert EV and EVO plugins into EV Nova plugins, automatically
  • Control over precisely which resources load into the plug - focus your attention!

EVONE ReviewRock on - Version: 1.0pb2.5, 10/27/2003 04:48PM PST

This software rocks. I'm in the Beta program and thus have been trying various incarnations of this for a while, and it just keeps getting better and better! It's already very useful (especially with the Template Driver), and just keeps getting better as editors for more and more resource types are created.

I'm working on a Total Conversion plugin (just started, basically) with some other people and the plan is to try to use EVONE 100%

Keep up the great work, Arios Software!

EVONE ReviewSuperb Effort/Still A Beta - Version: 1.0pb2.1, 9/10/2003 03:55PM PST

I think this is a superb effort and hope that the crew at Arios Software make it out of the beta test version.

The Beta lets you edit some things that Mission Computer, "http://davidarthur.evula.net/" will not. While Mission Computer lets you edit things EVONE will not. A little frustrating having to bounce back and forth between two programs to affect necessary changes to your work. (Both programs crash and have bugs.)

Better than I can do, so I am not complaining. I do not think Arios should charge a shareware fee (especially for a beta version) until they fix the programs bugs and implement full editing capabilities.

When they do that, they have my money and gladly so. If they actually implemented all this and included full documentation for how to use the program and what all the terms mean and how to use them, 5 stars.

Great effort. Thank you Arios.
