MacBook Pro Hard Drive Firmware Update 2.0 reduces certain infrequent noises made by 7200-rpm drives. These drives shipped with the June 2009 MacBook Pro. To complete the firmware update process, please follow the instructions in the updater application (/Applications/Utilities/Hard Drive Update.app). The updater will launch automatically when the installation is complete. New Hard Drive firmware will be: 0007APM2

Comments from 2007 and having nothing to do with this particular update do not belong here.

And VT should not have a title which includes "for iMac Core 2 Duo & Mac Pro" while the description (in the VT newsletter) says it's for a June 2009 MacBook Pro.

Dual 3Ghz MacPro 'does not need this update'. I was hoping this was the silver bullet that would fix all the stupid OS 9 type crap that's plagued my machine since I installed Leopard.

Got an iMac Core2Duo 2,33 and this thingy tells me that I don't need this update.
