As fart as I can tell, Butler works fine with the new OS.

Wonderful range of features- excellent clipboard, Google in the menubar, better Spotlight searcher, all the features of FruitMenu or the old OS9 Apple menu, immediate access to email addresses, etc. Very easy to customize- all changes show up immediately.

Butler is a miracle of configurability. It can duplicate the varied functions of at least eight other best-of-class utilities, and do so elegantly and without compromise.
It had been hovering around my consciousness for more than a year when I decided to spend a little time seeing whether it was really all that it was cracked up to be. Definitely, but it is only when you start fine-tuning and putting it to your own uses that you fully understand what it is capable of. It is like a digital Meccano set: it may not arrive in the form that quite suits you, but you can take it apart and reassembe it in infinite different ways. It would be a rare Mac user who could not somehow work more efficiently or pleasantly with Butler's help.

Run Home Slow
was using MaxMenu till leopard... tried Butler... delete all thing except the menu bar shortcut... works well... IT'S FREE!! i'd like to see a preference for bigger icon and menu... it's good but i'd like it bigger a bit on my iMac G5/2.1 20inches kinda little bit too small... MaxMenu a pref for small, big, bigger....too big ;-) well, Butler is still on... nice FREE app. :-) good works.

Need a mute button! - Version: 4.1.3 Transient, 11/12/2007 02:39PM PST

I see Volume Up, Volume Down, but there's no mute key to program for my function keys! I just got an aluminum keyboad and absolutely need to have the mute key over here on the right side of the keyboard. I tried getting used to having the mute in the middle of the keyboard when I used a MacAlly iMediaCrackableKey keyboard, and I went insane. Need to put the mute in for F18!

Ohhhh, I love this little thing so much! We've been together for such a long time, it's probably my most stable relationship ever! And since Butler is so versatile, I don't need that many other utilities any more, which means it even made me believe in monogamy... ;-)
A "must-have" app!

This is my one absolute "must-have" for my Mac! I feel lost without it, so the Leopard update is very welcome!!!
Excellent program.
Excellent program.
marvelous but broken under Leopard? - Version: 4.1.2, 11/3/2007 12:25PM PST

I agree: Butler is a fantastic MUST-have app; better than Quicksilver or other options (which I've tried but require too many keystrokes to get at what I want). However, at least one feature — key combination in any app. to open a given folder in Finder — seems broken under Leopard. For this reason I've reverted back to Tiger. Seems they know of it and are promising a fix in a few days.
I'd also suggest that they make this shareware. It's worth it, and I'd be more than happy to pay for all their hard work.

Most useful software

In 13 years of internet use, this program is THE most useful piece of software I have ever downloaded!
I've been using it for about four years & it has never failed me. The more I use it, the more uses I find for it. Even now, I feel I'm only just skimming the surface with it.
I cannot recommend this program enough. I've used QS & Launchbar... Butler is better. I've had a look at DragThing, don't get it. I keep coming back to Butler.
Try it. Use it. Pay for it.
