Holy Cow! Great update. Fixed annoying pixelation

I didn't realize this update existed, and I've been pissed about the less than perfect graphics of this game for a while. After using this update, game looks fantastic. Games should send out info about updates to game owners. When we register the game, we should be able to submit email and get info on these important updates in the future.
Kinda usless...

piece of software. I tried using version 1.0 a couple years ago with a 500mhz iBook and gave up in disgust. I recently got a 1.33 G4 iBook and tried the 1.1 update. The rendering is certainly faster, but the play is just as bad. A total lack of consistency in making the short shots. Putt that go nowhere.... downswings that have a mind of their own... eg analysis..."extreme outside to in swing path" when you have tried to play a draw... almost as if you had your mouse reversed!
What is really perplexing is that some users have reported that the game works perfectly on a variety of machines. Maybe they only went to the driving range! If it works well for some folk, it means that the rest of us are having some kind of finger trouble. This should be something that Aspyr should be able to resolve. It would be nice if they would at least try instead of just trying to sell more copies.

Fun game, but bugginess ruins it

This game has issues. I am running it on a PowerBook 1.5ghz with 512 Megs, and it regularly quits, goes all choppy, and gives erratic swings when nothing in my actual mouse swing changed from previous successful swings. The video performance is terrible considering I have a pretty decent video card. The gameplay is really fun when it works, but the bugs actually make you play worse.
BAD job on this one, Aspyr!

Sadly, this appears to be no longer supported by Aspyr. There still are major issues with the game, which holds a ton of promise but apparently nobody over there can be bothered to try and provide fixes. Unfortunately the same is true of the other competing title - Links, which also is plagued by many problems that haven't been fixed. Mac golfers deserve better!
This is THE BEST golf game!!

This update fixed everything that I thougt was a problem with the game. It sped up the performance dramatically too! I don't understand why everyone complains about this game. IT'S FREAKIN' AWESOME! Oh, and for kirkmc1 when you are putting or chipping to stop the ball from only going inches, you have to swing SLOWER. You're not trying to drive the ball. Anyways, if you like golf buy this game. It's cheap and fun!
Steal this game!

This game sucks. If you want to play it, by all means don't pay for it. Aspyr deserves that their games be pirated for releasing this piece of crap.
Here's what's wrong: first, it's supposed to work with a G3 400. Yeah, right... I bought it for my son, to use on his G3 800 iBook with 640 MB Ram, and it moves in jerks and starts. The graphics suck, and it's basically unplayable. On my G4 933 iBook, it is better, but the graphics still take time to catch up with my strokes.
There there's the putting (and the occasional chip shot). Often, after a full backswing, then a foreswing, the ball goes a few inches and no more. Or what about those times when I backswing and the golfer swings before the foreswing? This game is so buggy that Aspyr should be ashamed.
In addition, some features don't work as described. There are supposed to be three ways to hit the ball: using the spacebar, using the 3-click method, and their True-swing method. The first two don't work at all, meaning that I need to use a mouse to play with an iBook, since using the trackpad is pathetic.
So, all these game companies rag on people who pirate their software, but when you buy *censored* like this, you understand why. (Oh, did I mention that Aspyr's tech support doesn't even answer questions about this game? Gee, that's a subtle hint...)
In short, I don't pirate software, but I'll make sure to download copies of some of Aspyr's games to make up for the money I wasted on this piece of *censored*. Save your money. Buy a couple of good books to read instead.

Price decrease reason... - Version: 1.1, 4/28/2004 05:46AM PST

It's entirely possible, from what I've experienced myself and read from others' reviews, that Aspyr's support is not responding and that they dropped the price (apparently, on their web site) is that they don't have a fix for the problems users have encountered, and think that that'll satisfy users....but I would rather pay a little more to NOT have the problems!

...and that is, when in Career mode it does not let you go further than halfway in the levels. There are 5 levels - Tour being the 3rd and Champion being the 4th. You can advance from Tour to Champion level by placing in the top 10 of one of the tournaments in the Career Calendar, but I have placed first, sixth and a number of other times in the top ten but nothing happens to my level...it stays at Tour. To me, this is a major failing of the program...and the 1.1 update has done nothing to fix it. Aspyr (the Mac developers of the game) tells you that they will get back to you "within a few business days" but they haven't....maybe they are just hiding because they don't know how to fix the problem or don't care to. A real disappointment....
