Product Description:

The program is easy to use. On start-up it looks for an connected iPod and parses the iTunesDB file on your iPod. From the iTunesDB file it creates two files. In the ~/Music folder, you should see a iPodDB.html file and a iPodDB.xml file. The HTML file can be opened with a web browser and is just a listing of all the songs (location, size, bitrate, album, artist, title) on your iPod. The xml file can be used by iLyric. So open iLyric and change the default location for you "iTunes Music Library.xml" file to point at "iPodDB.xml".

Yes, the program needs an icon. If you have a good idea for one drop me a line.

iPodDB Reader ReviewIt is not on the web site - Version: 0.2b, 10/10/2005 01:30PM PST

KenLatman
I've tried downloading this but it is not on the site, as of 10/10/05. I've looked for backups online. I can not find any. Is the developer aware of this? Where can I find it now?

iPodDB Reader ReviewExcellent App - Version: 0.2b, 6/23/2003 10:43AM PST

I thought the reviews looked rather bleak, so I wanted to give this little app the credit it deserves. I had been wishing for just such an app for a while so that a friend and I could coordinate the contents of our iPods before vacation. When the first version came out, I tried it and it worked perfectly. No crashes, no stalls, it was all good. I already had iLyric, so had been wishing that I could also get lyrics for the stuff on my iPod (which has a larger drive than my computer!) Pointed iLyric towards the newly generated iPod database and away it went! I just tried this new version and it still works perfectly. Thanks to the developer for satisfying my cravings!

iPodDB Reader Commentaryworks now - Version: 0.2b, 6/23/2003 06:12AM PST

fixed crashing prob. seems to work as advertised, although does stall system while parsing. will hold off on review for further testing. parsed xml file does work with ilyric, though, so it's certainly worth trying out.
