Product Description:

UPDATE: Well, Amazon has disabled the Web Service 3.0 I use to get art. So in order to get Fetch Art working, I have to migrate to their Web Service 4.0 interface. This means no existing version of Fetch Art will work anymore.

It will take some time to migrate the code to the new Amazon Web Services, however, I do plan to work on it ASAP. Keep watching for Fetch Art version 1.5 that will add support for Amazon's new Web Services.

Fetch Art will allow you to automatically download album art for your music in iTunes. It uses album art from Amazon.com, and the ID3 tags in your MP3 files to determine the appropriate CD cover to download. If your ID3 tags are incorrect or incomplete, you may not get any art for that song, and occasionally will actually get the wrong art as it was unable to correctly find the album on Amazon.

What's new in this version:

  • The 1.4 release added Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and iTunes 7.5 compatibility
  • This version was tested on Mac OS X 10.5.1 and iTunes 7.5 although it should work with Mac OS X 10.4 and previous versions of iTunes too.

Have used this program since around 2005 and have not have had any serious problems. Highly recommend. After reading some of the other reviews it may be that some people don't want to do any work. Personally I don't mind small batch downloading so I can see what the album cover looks like. For those that don't care you can do entire library downloads as well. Your choice!

Fetch Art for iTunes CommentaryDon't Waste Your Time - Version: 1.4.0, 1/26/2008 12:00AM PST

No, second thought, go ahead. Download it. Try it. Then, after you get frustrated and irritated (hangs; can't cancel an operation; automatically loads your *entire* music library--apparently---by default; limited feature set; erratic performance), *try* MPFreaker.

Like me, you'll probably buy, and not look back.

MPFreaker has a good selection of features, is very effective, is stable (1.7.3) and fully supported by very responsive developer. It was worth every penny I paid for it ($20) and is one of the most used shareware programs in my arsenal.

If you have a big iTunes library, you owe yourself a test-ride.

Fetch Art for iTunes?

Go ahead, try it. I told you so (in advance).

The installer keeps telling me that there was an error and to try to install again. I'd love to try the software but can't even get it to install.
