iVCD CommentaryWow Mireth, now this is a surprise - Version: 3.0.1, 4/11/2006 07:51PM PST

What's new? DVD support... :)

I was really surprised. I used iVCD 2.x including a professional VCD project, blindly suggesting it.

(If your home device and the devices intended to play the CD can play SVCD, go with SVCD. It is MPEG 2 opposed to VCD, SVHS quality)

iVCD ReviewDoes not work at all - Version: 2.4.0, 8/8/2005 07:19AM PST

After 2 hours and wasting a CD, when you play the CD you have a CD with green letters on a black screen saying: bla bla unregistered demo version bla bla.

So it does not work, if they played at least the first 4 minutes or so fo the movie, then you would see that potentially after buying that it could work but all I've done is wasted band width and wasted a CD.

This demo should be taken off versiontracker as it does no service to wasted badnwidht and a CD

Hi,

I am perfectly happy with program but I had problems fitting longer than 45 min movies to single SVCD.

I found this and purchased (while buying not necessary)

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/26314
(qt coffee)

It has an excellent split movie tool and QT Pro not needed to split movies for *VCD. More ergonomic too (ever tried selecting a part in qt pro? ) :)

I couldn't buy QT Pro as Apple doesn't sell it to countries other than 8 anyway :)

I suggested iVCD maker to license it for future versions.

This tool is excellent for people doesn't like typing 20 commands just to have a video CD (or svcd) and their support is great.

iVCD ReviewEasy to use; works well - Version: 2.0.1, 1/22/2005 07:51AM PST

I needed to make VCDs from some AVI files. With iVCD it was literally as easy as drag 'n' drop.

When it starts up, it asks for the name of a new project (or lets you pick an existing project). It creates a folder for the project, then lets you drag movie files into a list. After dropping a movie file, all I had to do was select the type of disk (VCD, NTSC) and give it a name (optional). After pressing the "Convert - Image - Burn" icon and inserting a blank disc, I had a VCD in about an hour or so.

iVCD does give you more control if you need it. For example, you can choose to only convert the files to MPEG, if that's what you want.

The only criticism I have is that the demo version is essentially useless, as it plasters an ad for iVCD on the screen for the entire length of the movie. So if you burn a disc with the demo, you are wasting a disc. Other than that, I've bee quite pleased.

iVCD CommentaryDEMO Mode useless - Version: 2.0.1, 12/22/2004 02:24PM PST

werfblau
The demo mode is pretty useless; it‘s supposed to
„Authors Video CDs (VCDs) and Super Video CDs(SVCD), overlaid with watermark.“
— but I‘ve got the watermark only as long as my movie should be; I tried it several times with different sources and settings. That‘s not a basis for a real decision - or maybe it is: I removed it.

iVCD CommentaryHangs - Version: 2.0.1, 12/14/2004 07:03AM PST

I was really hoping this program would be the solution for me. I have AVI files I d/l and wanted to make a VCD. Since Mac's and AVI's don't get along, using Toast created disc's without sound.

I don't know if this product will do it since after running it overnight, it has hung on the second stage. Force quit.

ANYBODY KNOW HOW I CAN MAKE A VCD FROM AN AVI?? Can I convert it to a .bin file somehow?
