Oh yeah... and before you launch mlMac run:

sudo killall lookupd

This will restart the name server so that it updates the address for "homepage.mac.com"

I know this product is discontinued, but I still like it, so here's how to get it running:

It tries to download mlnet first, but the website no longer exists, so you have to trick the program.

1) Edit your /etc/hosts file and add the following line:
127.0.0.1 homepage.mac.com

2) Create a new disk image named mlnet2516t.dmg
3) Download mlnet.bzip from somewhere (like VersionTracker), uncompress, and put the mlnet file inside mlnet2516t.dmg
4) Unmount mlnet2516t.dmg
5) Put the file in this directory on the web server on your computer: /jul/.Public/
(e.g., using the default OSX web server, stick it in the directory /Library/WebServer/Documents/jul/.Public/)

Voila! Now when you start up the program it will try to update itself at http://homepage.mac.com/jul/.Public/mlnet2516t.dmg, which is actually the file on your computer you just downloaded.

After you're done, probably best to delete the line you added out of /etc/hosts to allow you to go to .Mac homepages again.

There might be an easier way of editing where it looks for the file, but this works for me.
