I have posted this review already on MacUpdate.com, and since I know a lot of mac users visit this site as well, I want to repost my review of this application here.
I have been looking for a cookbook/database program that I could use to help me with planning and preparing meals, and I have found it with MacGourmet Deluxe. Wow! I don't write many reviews, but this app is perfect for what I need. I am retired on disability, and one of my chores, while my wife works, is to have dinner ready when she gets off work. This is an all in one application that is making cooking different things so easy. You can publish to your .mac account, and since I have an iWeb family blog that my adult children read (they live literally all over the U.S, in Colorado, Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas), I can share some of the wonderful recipes that I find, in addition to sending them some of the families all time favorites, which they always seem to call for, telling me "I can't find the recipe, Dad". Another neat feature is the ability to sync to iCal. For meal planning that is awesome. The way this application works with the best that OS X has, makes using it a pleasure. It is intuitive, and I did not need to dig to find out how to do things. You can also export to your PDA, making shopping at the grocery that much easier. One more thing: Within the first hour of trying out this application, I was able to download so many recipes, you wouldn't believe it. Lots of recipes from Rachael Ray, Mario Batalli, and many of the chefs from Food Network. I rate this application five stars, easily.

I gave it a 4 because there are a few things that I think could improve.
1. When adding a meal or what you actually going to prepare you have to go down to the wheel for each step and that made me frustrated. I just wanted to be able to click on Breakfast and fill in what we will be having. Am I getting lazy or what!
2. I also wish was that they had an icon on the main work page where I could just click on for the meal plan. It would just be nice to have a visual of it. There is a short-cut to meal planning which almost makes up it.
3. The shopping list is a little difficult to figure out from the meal planning section. However they do have a user guide that can be very helpful.
I had plans on creating such a system but to be honest I would rather cook. Now I just need to find one of those covers for my key board so I can go create some new secret family recipes! You can also take pictures of your master piece and add it to your recipe.
